Poem analysis

The Son is in Secondary School by Affian Sa’at

The poet expressed his thought of the schooldays in an incredibly detailed way. This actually proves that the poet really enjoyed his schooldays and really remember every detail.
In the first stanza of his poem, the poet mentioned about his school motto. He vividly remember that it was in Latin. The poet really missed his schooldays.
The next few stanzas are that the poet is describing some of the things he thought that was interesting, things that he really missed . Those really realistic scenes of singing the national anthem when black crows interrupted, that it was hard to remain the whiteness of the shoe.

Above was what I thought at first until I reached the last few stanzas. I discovered that the poet's son is paralysed and had to move around in a wheelchair. The poet follows him to school everyday.
I do not know whether my understanding is correct. However, no matter what is the really meaning of this poem , it still gives us a touching description of the days he spent in school.

My schooldays

Pens in hand
Put down the rubber bands
Pay attention to the books on the table
Not Justin Bieber
When teacher is talking
We are chatting
When teacher is teaching
We are sleeping
We hate teachers' nags
As much as we hate it when the computer lags
We say that teachers are lame
And call them names

But think
Time flies in a blink
When we grow up
We would miss the teachers' punishes
When our childishness vanish
We would always remember the days spent with friends
Rather than spending time with clients

We hope school days pass quickly
And we could go to work happily
But we all will definetely miss our fanciful school days
Rather than the bills we need to pay
We want to grow up
But adults want to turn back into a growing cub
Back to those fabulous school days spent in fun activities
Walking briskly after school toward KTVs

Those crushes we had
Those jokes we shared
Those games we played
Those books we read
Those teachers we had
Those names we gave

Now you still want to grow up
No I want to remain as a growing cub
Forever and ever

An interview with Xin man

Now , I am going to record a interview between me, the journalist and Xin man, my primary school classmate. I am interviewing him through facebook.
Me: Have you read the stories" Lamb to the slaughter "and"The way up to heaven"?
Xin man: Yes. i found them quite interesting.
Me: So , in your own opinion, do you think Patrick , in Lamb to the slaughter, deserves to die?
Xin man : I don't think so. Although Patrick might have done something unfaithful or wrong to his wife, his wife do not have the rights to kill him. No one has the right to end another person's life!
Me: Then do you think in "The way up to heaven", Mrs Foster caused her husband to die intentionally? In another words, do you think Mrs Foster caused her husband's death?
Xin man : Yes. Mrs Foster killed her husband indirectly.
Me: What do you think is the main problem happening between this two couples?
Xin man :Deception. Mr Maloney(Patrick) betrayed Mary and turned his back towards her, out of anger, Mary killed her husband. While in the other story, its a different statement. The problem between this couple is.......,eh, it is not mentioned but we can actually conclude that Mr Foster actually did not want his wife to be happy. And in the end , indirectly caused his own death.
Me: So how do you think couples can maintain a so called healthy relationship?
Xin man : I think they should go out regularly and think for each other so that they can maintain this you called healthy relationship.
Me:Then do you think Mary deserves a punishment in court?
Xin man: Yes. After all , she killed someone!
Me:What about Mrs Foster?
Xin man: Same goes to her. Although she did not really "killed" her husband.
Me: So do you think Mary and Mrs Foster would feel guilty for they had done?
Xin man: For Mary , maybe yes.But for Mrs Foster, NO!
Me: Why?
Xin man: Mary killed her husband in a state of rash while Mrs Foster "killed" her husband without any feelings.
Me: Ok . Thank you for sharing the time with me.
Xin man: Don't mention it.

what I feel about the Multiple Intelligence test

I took a multiple intelligence test and discovered that I am actually an interpersonal person. This means that I am good at group works, or working with others. I am also a kin aesthetic person and perhaps that is why I love sports. This multiple intelligence test had made me know what I am good and bad at. I am , eh, not so good at visual/picture smart . Being an interpersonal person, I am going to conduct an interview with a friend or family member. Find out his/her opinions about crime and punishment or the necessity to communicate in a relationship. Record the interview down.
Before I end this post, I am going to emphasis that the test was useful in letting me know my strengths and weaknesses.

Cross country--A lesson I will NEVER forget

24 February 2010, all of us were waiting nervously for the race to start . "3,2,1" and all the secondary ones were running with all their might. Jack , Yuxiang and me were quite confident that we would win the race as we have always been the top few passing the finishing line in previous runs.
We had been running steadily at first and then we came to this loop where we were suppose to run towards the gate when the teacher REDIRECTED us to the other way and cause us to run an extra 700 meter that others did not. When we started running back to the original route, we discovered that half of the secondary one cohort were ahead of us. Yuxiang , being the best cross country runner in the secondary one cohort immediately speed up to catch up. Jack and I were left behind.
When I almost use up all my strength ,about to stop. I saw this girl running ahead of me.I thought to myself,"I cannot lose to a girl!" and sped up . However, as I go nearer to the finishing line , more and more girls began to appear ahead of me. Although, I would really like to stay behind them to peep at them but I was representing the class but not an individual. So I just close my eyes and dashed all the way.
When I finally reached the finishing line,I have no more strength to even stand up. I was extremely upset when I know that I did not even get into the top hundred!
This is a lesson for me and 1o3,DO NOT TRUST ANYONE IN A RACE!!!!!! EVERYONE IS YOUR ENEMY! (just joking)

Similarities between Way up to heaven and Lamb to the slaughter

I am posting this post about the similarities between Way up to heaven and Lamb to the slaughter now. First of all, a short lesson I have learnt after reading this two stories: MEN SHOULD NOT TREAT WOMEN BADLY OR ELSE SOMEDAY THEY WILL TAKE THEIR REVENGE!!!!!!!!!
I both stories, the wives were treated badly by their husbands and were suffering in their lives. However , they somehow found a way to kill their husbands in a way. Both woman are extremely clever and had created a so called alibi and escaped law. In my opinion , although husband should not treat their wives badly , but that does not give the wives the rights to kill their husbands.
A warning to all BOYS reading this post- BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU CHOOSE YOUR WIVES!

I got into NCC

My worst nightmare-----I got into NCC! I do not know why did I get into there although I put it as my forth choice. Life will be tough for me for the next few years. God bless me!
My classmate-Yuxiang has been mumbling by my ear, asking me to join cross-country with him.I told him I put it as my second CCA option and he was extremely glad and now he is extremely sad. I know that I am not the only one who got into a CCA that I do not want to go , but I still cannot help feeling low.
However , after the first training of NCC , I found out that NCC is actually not as harsh as I aspected. The people there were quite nice though and I met a number of new friends here.
And now I am looking forward to my next training......

My class introduction

Hi everyone I am lam@spot. Guess you have read my first post, how was it? Please give me some comments.

Anyway , this time I am going to continue my previous post. My class is one of the noisiest class in the whole level. However , it is filled with talented students. Students who are extremely talented in sports or art and even music filled up our class.

The thing that I cannot tolerate is that we have to change into our P.E attire in class. It begins when someone shouts 3,2,1 and everyone "strips" (of course there are no girls in our class) even though a female teacher is still in class. Some shy boys just wear their P.E attire over their school uniform.(It must be very uncomfortable)

Guess what ! I am planning to join NCC!(national cadet corp) Other classmates are either joining sports or clubs and society.

I will be writing a new post in the next few days. Bye for now!

Those classmates of mine

Good day to everyone who are reading this now.

I am a normal secondary school student, but those classmates of mine are not ''normal'' at all. First there is Jun who always has his hand phone in his hands, listening to sexy songs and playing boring games.
Then there's my monitor- Dave who is extremely passionate in food and just as what you are thinking now-he is overweight.
Another classmate of mine is Jackie , who has a Malay looking face but a 100% Chinese. He has got a''cool'' expression hanging on his face all the time.
Shawn is always in his own world and you can never know what he is thinking about . Sometimes meaningless phrases like ''I touch myself when I get bored'' or ''Crazy Papa'' jump out from his mouth suddenly.
There is Arnuis who claims to have a dozen girlfriends and HouWen who love to flirt.
